Abstract
Chinese poetry is the essence of Chinese culture and Chinese poetry translating has always aroused general concern. When translating Chinese poetry, poetic elements like rhyme, rhythm, image, poetic language, etc. should be taken into considerations to achieve aesthetic effects.
According to Andre Lefevere?s manipulation theory (also known as rewriting theory), there are three factors influencing translating: ideology, patronage and poetics. In Andre Lefevere?s opinion, dominant poetics manipulates translating and translating should conform to the dominant poetics. The thesis aims to analyze the translation of Busuanzi from the perspective of poetics in manipulation theory.
