On the Proper Application of Multimedia in Junior HighSchool 多媒体在初中英语教学中的合理利用 Abstract In China，the government has paid much more attention to the English education in high school than any time in the past. Although the government，students，parents， teachers and researchers have spent a lot of time on getting higher scores，students gain a few practical skills and have poor oral English in fact. In recent years，the multimedia has been frequently used in the area of education especially in English teaching. Many educators and researchers have discussed and researched the possibility of using multimedia in English teaching. In nowadays，multimedia equipments are frequently installed and used in almost all schools，even in rural areas. This thesis is making effort to explore how to create a better language-teaching environment by aids of multimedia technique in junior high school and find some ways of improving the teaching efficiency. The thesis will first present the theories that assist the application of multimedia in English teaching. In the second part，the conditions and significance of using multimedia in junior high school English teaching in China will be discussed. In the third part，the thesis will focus on the negative factors on the application of multimedia. And the last part is providing some solving ways.
