II II Abstract Transportation comes first in national economy, the road transport plays a very important role in the national economy and it is the basic industry of social development. Since the beginning of reform and opening up, Chinas road transport have developed rapidly, at the same time, synchronous growth of road transport undertakings are the number of road traffic accidents and losses caused by road traffic accidents. Since peoples basic necessities is closely related to traffic in people-oriented time, traffic news have called unprecedented attention today, so the road traffic safety reports have become one of the most popular type of news in recent years . The paper selects the representative of the media coverage as research subjects, and combined with the case which is caused a significant social impact in recent years. The author analyses the road traffic safety report in China from the reports of news facts and information dissemination, the news propagation and news propaganda, news value and news selection through objective, systematic, quantitative statistics and analysis. Then, the author analyses the inadequacies of the media reports. At last, the author propose a way to optimize road traffic safety reports form the basis of situation analysis and the factors influence media reports.
