ftftt-bb川 f Abstract● Abstract ● Golden Wedding has a description of the marriage of Tong Zhi and Wen Li， ●L■■■K‘ which is significant and welcome by many people．Nowadays，both of the studies on metadiscourse and register applied in Chinese Discourse are seldom involved．Golden Wedding before，during and after the Cultural Revolution will be analyzed from the ’’：-lr perspectives of textual metadiscourse and interpersonal metadiscourse．Then，the metadiscourse in Golden Wedding will be reanalyzed in the view of Register Theory from the three aspects：field，tenor and mode，thus an integrative approach of‘‘register analysis of metadiscourse”is formed．Finally,the views of marriage are presented by the integrative approach of“register analysis of metadiscourse’’according to the 删。us anal ysis．7 ● The thesis intends to develop a multi—perspective approach of“register analysis of metadiscourse’，viewing register from the perspective of metadiscourse，which in tlae end can be used by readers to have a better comprehension of Chinese discourse on marriage．By applying the approach into the analysis of the Chinese discourse， Golden Wedding before，during and after the Cultural Revolution，which are in different contexts are analyzed． Through an in-depth analysis，the thesis draws the conclusion that different metadiscourses ale embodied in the different register variables．Thus，the views of marriage during different periods ale well presented in the multi-perspective approach of‘register analysis of metadiscourse’．The thesis also tries to prove the feasibility and operability of analysis of Chinese script by the integrative‘‘register analysis of ● metadiscourse’’approach for readers in the analysis of the social reality of such kind of Chinese genre，not only in English，which in the end Can be used by readers to have a better comprehension of Chinese discourse on marriage． This This thesis falls into five chapters in total．Chapter One is the introduction， illustrating the purpose，signific
