ABSTRACT The thesis studies the model and method of controIIing supplier quality based on six sigma managemen t.lt uses cable suppliers reducing cable defect rate as a research case. At first，the study clarifies on theory that both six sigma and supplier chain ，. management have common points，then the study makes more researchs on the application of six sigma continuous improvement to supplier chain quality 他 managemen t.DMAIC five steps method is the way of six sigma continuous improvement.Six sigma continuous improvement on the supplier quality managerment is expressed and expanded through the project.It includes two key points.One ofthem is that the six sigma system need to be built up in company which includes the organizations set up、target se忧ing as well as people 衍aining;Another key point isωset up a six sigma project team which will aim at supplier chain quality issues by using six sigma five steps method.The five steps method includes pr呼  ect define、project measure 、pr咱 ect analyse、project improve and project con衍ol.The project team will also use six sigma tools 8uchωSIPOC model、plato analysis、tree diagrams、fish bone diagrams and CE matrix diagrams undering current resourcesω achieve the goal. At last，the study takes the story of cabel supplier successfuIly reducing cable defect rate as an example to verify the six sigmas DMAIC method is feasibly not only on theorγbut also on practice.
