The exploitation efficiency of energy sources in our country is much lower than that in developed countries. Therefore，our raìlway has great potential to economize on energy sources and this task is arduous. Base on the many years research of train running ca1culation in the sin1ulation laboratory of traffic and transportation system and according to the practical operating envirormnet in the railway sub-bureau of BengBu 、the paper makes the detailedLy study on the optimization methods of train operation for saving energy. The paper makes the comprehensive investigation about the train operation for saving energy in china and abroad. Using the train movement simulation system for saving energy developed by the simuLation laboratory of traffic and transportation system of Beijing j iaotong university and the data in the train running information recorder‘ the paper 巳xplores the simulation problem on train movement calculatíon for saving energy.
