Refresh the memory about the reading What Can We do about Global Warming. Ask Ss to refresh the ways about how can we save energy and useful expressions we learned last period. To evoke the memory about saving energy. Step 2: pre-listening for part 1 Show Ss some new words that will appear in the listening comprehension. Explain the new words and show them the pictures about them, including fossil fuels, carbon dioxide, nuclear power, Chernobyl. To raise the interest of the listening comprehension. Step 3: while-listening for part 1 Listen to part 1 the first time. Ss are required to find out the main topic of the interview. Ss are required to read the statements below and think about which statement is correct according to the listening tape and their knowledge. Listen to the tape again and find out Professor Keeling’s attitude toward the statements. To make sure Ss understand the listening comprehension and grasp the information about different energy sources.
