I. Play a short video about Chinese and Western diet cultures, and ask the students to talk about what food they can see in the video.
II. Present some tableware and ask the students what they are and how to use them.
III. Tell the students they are going to learn more about diet cultures around the world.

I. Present photos of food and drinks on the slide, and explain the meaning for the students.
II. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue on Page 76, and ask them to find the polite expressions in dealing with customers’ requests.
III. Ask the students to read after the tape. Then ask them to finish Activity ② on Page 76 in pairs. Explain the new words if necessary.
IV. Ask the students to read the passage on Page 77 and answer the following questions:
What is a local speciality in Chongqing?
What does bento consist of?
What food is famous in Germany?
V. Ask some students to find some key words to introduce hotpot, bento and wurst, and ask other students to guess what food he introduces.
