Teaching difficulty: Write a passage about smoking using proper link words. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Greeting and introduction Good morning, everyone! Glad to meet you! My name is Kelly. Step 2 Lead in Teacher: Can you use mobile phones in school? Why? Group work. 6 students in a group and discuss the reason. Step 3 Read the passage Ask students to read the passage about mobile phone. Analyze the passage Beginning: Para1 (introduce the phenomena) Body: Para 2 (advantages and disadvantages) Ending: Para 3 (own opinion and the reason) Link words 表达“首先”:First and foremost, to begin/ start with, first of all, firstly 表达“其次”:Secondly, besides, what’s more, moreover 表达“最后”:thirdly, lastly, last but not least Step 4 writing 如今越来越多的青少年开始吸烟,有些是出于好奇,有些是觉得吸烟很酷。根据以上现状写一片文章,介绍吸烟危害,呼吁人们远离香烟。 要求:120词左右 8至10分钟 提示:out of curiosity(出于好奇) keep away from(远离) call on(呼吁) Step 5 Post-writing Present students’ writing by reading and writing.
