Unit 4 Wildlife protection
Writing lesson
Ⅰ Background information
1.This is an intermediate large-sized class of 35,Grade 1 senior high school student,including 15 boys and 20 girls in the class.
2. This is the second lesson of the morning class which lasts 20 minutes, so they maybe feel tired or can not focus much on the class carefully.
3. The students in this class are not active enough, so an appropriate way to motivate them is a necessity.
4. Lessons are taught in a light classroom equipped with a whiteboard and an overhead projector.
5. They have already learned the vocabulary and phrase of this unit about wildlife protection. Also they are familiar with the present progressive tense and the simple past voice.
Ⅱ Teaching aims
By the end of the class, the students will
Be able to use the words and phrases they have learned to describe the present situation that those endangered wildlife are facing now.
Find the grammar rules of present progressive passive voice guided by the teacher. In that ways, they can have a solid foundation to write a letter and get familiar with the form of writing a composition.
Be able to Develop the critical thinking of problem-solving through cooperating with other students in discussion.
Have the awareness of protecting the environment and love the nature.
Ⅲ Language contents and skills
The use of present progressive passive tense.
The vocabulary and phrase:the names of the endangered animals, why are they dying out and disappearing: the food shortage, hunting, pollution, the habitation is being destroyed, the raising of the sea level, the wildlife animals can not adjust themselves to the changed environment.
3. Skills: speaking and writing.
