Teaching plan Step 1 Warming up Listen to an English song “What can you do?”,encourage the students to sing the song together. Step 2 Talent show. 1. Teacher do the paper cutting of pandas, give them to the winners as gifts in the following group competitions. 2. Have the students answer question “What can you do?” , and ask them to show their talents. Step 3 Game time Group competition:Listen to the music and guess what music instruments they are. If you they know the answers,just stand up as quickly as they can and say them. If their answer is right, the group can get one point. At the same time teacher have them answer questions like “ Can you/he/she play the guitar?/ Who can play the piano? Step4. Rap time Have the students read the lyric on the screen in two parts, then exchange the roles,next rap with the music. Step 5 Listening Read the words and expressions in 1d. Listen to the tape and circle the words and expressions they hear. Have the individuals to say the answer. Liten to the tape again and fill in the chart in 1e. Check the answers in pairs like this: A: What can Bill do? B: Bill can play the guitar,but he can’t sing. Step 6 Video time Watch video about Simon and Zing, try to remember what Zing can do and can’t do, give them 3 minutes to prepare for it,then present it in a chain in a group like this: Student A: Zing can talk.
