The Teaching Design of“So do I.”and“ So I do.”
Teaching Aim:Get good use of the two sentence structures.
Teaching Difficulty:Understanding the meaning of the sentences,get the right choice.
Teaching Steps:
Step1. Lead in
Begin the class with the dialogue between the two famous cross -talk actors, Yue Yunpeng and his partner Sun Yue.Present the two sentence structures at one time and understand their meanings.
I come from Deyunshe. So do I .
I like cross talk. So do I .
You have a slight fat figure. So I do .
Step 2.New concepts
By translating and understanding the sentences above,make the students get to know the key difference between them is the number of the people or objects being talked about.If they are talking about one thing or one(group of) people ,we should choose“So I do”,if they are talking about two(groups of) people or two things ,we choose “So do I .”
Try to understand the helping verb“do”can be replaced by “be/does/did /can/must...”according to the tense or pron of the sentences.
I was thin. So was I.
I used to live a hard life. So did I.
I am fat. So you are.
I have worked here for years. So you have.
Step 3. Practice
