Grammar: Present Participle as Adverbials ------by Shao Yumei Teaching and learning aims: 1. Know the usage of V-ing as adverbial(原因、条件、时间、结果、让步、伴随/方式)and can distinguish what adverbial clause it is; 2. Make sentences with V-ing form as adverbial correctly through talking about Juddy Hopps or themselves; 3. Set up an ideal and strive for it. Key and difficult points: Understand the V-ing form as adverbial and use it to deal with related exercise on guidepaper. Make sentences with V-ing form as adverbial to talk about Juddy Hopps or themselves. Previewing guidance: Try to understand the V-ing form(原因、条件、时间、结果、让步、伴随/方式)as adverbials by reading a passage, and finish the exercises left for them. In the process, the ss can discover the rules, make a conclusion and practice with them. In this class, two short videos will be presented to my class. What talks about in the videos will be shown to them in advance as extensive reading materials so as to understand them better. After watching the videos, they will have something to say, so they can write their opinions down and get promoted meanwhile. Teaching procedures: 设计意图: 整节语法课将以电影《疯狂动物城》为主线,通过播放电影片段------兔子警官Judy的经历,导入本节课同学们的任务,每完成一个任务就可以获得一个“胡萝卜”奖励,积攒了十个以上就可以像Judy一样实现自己的梦想。 通过视频带学生去感受,阅读文章去发现,做出自我总结,再反复通过练习、游戏进行操练巩固,最后使用以上学习的现在分词作状语来描述Judy或自己的感受,达到课堂的输出和升华。在Judy的影响和激励下,学生积极的情感态度和价值观得以加深,再寄予老师的期望,完成本节课的学习。 Step1. Lead-in Some pictures and a short video to lead in the topic---the main stream in this class. Design idea: With the help of pictures and a short video, I’ll lead my students into animals’ world---Zootopia, and introduce the main character, Judy Hopps, and her realizing her dream of becoming a police officer. If we want to be successful, we should finish the tasks and get as many as carrots as we can. The activity can not only attract the ss’ attention to the class but also arouse their interest in finishing the tasks. Step2. Discovery and conclusion Read the following passage with the V-ing form as adverbials
