Teaching procedures ways:
Step1. Warming-up(The aim is to direct the students to understand the topic and to gain the useful information about the USA .)
Let the students enjoy a short video about the USA.
Group work: look at the map of the USA with your group. Write on the map the names of as many of the following as you can. Compare your names with other groups.
Step2. Pre-reading
1) General knowledge quiz about California
2) Show the students some pictures and encourage students not only to say what each picture is about but how each one relates to California.
3) Predicting read the title and subtitle of the passage and learn to predict the main idea.
What do you know about California? What catches your eyes first in the text?
