PAGE PAGE 32 从《认真的重要性》看王尔德的唯美主义与道德观 摘要：《认真的重要性》是英国唯美主义代表人物王尔德的喜剧代表作。剧本围绕两位男士冒名自称“厄尼斯特”这一事件展开，以机智诙谐的语言形式，向观众讲述维多利亚末期英国上流社会的两对男女间的爱情故事。本文将从《认真的重要性》英文剧本与实际表演效果出发，结合维多利亚时代的社会背景以及王尔德的人生经历，在前人研究的基础上，通过对其情节设置与剧本语言的简单剖析并结合观影体会，探究英国文学才子王尔德的唯美主义主张与道德观，以加深对戏剧文学的理解。 关键词：《认真的重要性》；王尔德；唯美主义；道德观 The Aestheticism of Wilde and Morality in The Importance of Being Earnest Abstract: The Importance of Being Earnest is the magnum opus of Oscar Wilde, who is the representative personage of Aesthetic Movement in Britain. With witty and humorous dialogue, the play mainly represents the love story of four young people, among which two men both pretend to be “Earnest”. Making the social background of Victorian Era and the personal experience of Oscar Wilde as the access point, this paper analyses simply the plot and dialogue language of its English drama and explores the Aestheticism of Oscar Wilde and the morality of Victorian Era, all together with the impression of view of the movie edition, to have a more comprehensive understanding of dramatic literature. Introduction 1.1 Oscar Wilde and The Importance of Being Earnest Oscar Wilde (1854--1900) is the one of the most controversial writers in English literary History, who, with great reputation, touches upon various types of literature in his short but extraordinary life time, such as poetry, fairy tales, drama, etc. As the representative personage of Aesthetic Movement in Britain, Oscar spends all his life practicing the creed that art is for art’s sake thoroughly. From 1890 to 1895, Oscar Wilde created the four most popular social comedies, among which The Importance of Being Earnest is considered as his magnum opus. In this social comedy, large amounts of witty paradox and stylistic dialogue are put into use, showing completely the outstanding capability of this literary genius.
