By this story ,Ss can review what they have learned “what can you do? I can...Can you...? Yes,I can. No,I cant.” Ss can also improve the abilities to deal with the things wisely in difficulties. Part 2 Students material Grade 5 ss have a basic ability to learn English, they can speak some phrases and sentences. So this part is easy to learn and understand for them. Part 3 Teaching objectives 1 Ss can grasp the main idea of the story. 2 Ss can improve the ability of getting information by detailed reading. 3 Cultivate Ss abilities to solve the problems wisely. Part 4 Teaching points and difficulty The key and difficult points of this course is”Grasp the main idea of the story.”and”Cultivate Ss abilities to solve the problems wisely.” Part 5 Teaching and learning method I will design some problems to help them persept the story:“Predict--listen--find--understand”. Part 6 Teaching process Step 1 Pre-reading I will show the Pictures about teh rat and the snake and ask ss predict the story. Step 2 While-reading (1) Listen to the story and answer the question. (2) Read the details with the questions and find the answers. (3) Understand the story by the pictures and the cartoons. Understand the words in the story. Step3 Post-reading (1) Retell the story According to the retelling ,Ss will have a deeper understanding of the text,and consolidate the key words.In this way,both Ss reading and speaking skills can be developed. (2) What we have learned in this story? we should be calm and solve the problems wisely when we are in the difficulties.
