Methods One hundred and seventy patients with stable angina pectoris admitted to Department of Cardiology， General Hospital of Benxi Iron and Steel Co.，Ltd. from January 2012 to January 2015 were selected and randomly divided into two groups by random number table. 85 cases of control group were treated with Atenolol， 85 cases of observation group were treated with Ivabradine. The clinical curative effect and the changes of vascular endothelial function and arteriosclerosis status before treatment and after treatment for 4 weeks were compared. Results The difference of the clinical curative effect between the two groups was statistically significant （u = ， P ）. After treatment， the resting heart rate （RHR）， exercise heart rate （EHR）， angina attacks times and duration of the observation group were much lower or shorter than those of control group （P ）. After treatment， the levels of nitric oxide （NO） and superoxide dismutase （SOD） in the observation group were much higher than those in control group， the levels of endothelin-I （ET-1）， malondialdehyde （MDA） and the value of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity （baPWV） in the observation group were much lower than those in control group （P ）. Conclusion Ivabradine in the treatment of stable angina pectoris can decrease the RHR and EHR effectively， and also can improve the vascular endothelial function and arteriosclerosis status， which has definite therapeutic effect。 [Key words] Stable angina pectoris； Ivabradine； Vascular endotheli
