Unit2 My week (partC) story time
Background and Objectives
This lesson is designed for fifth-grade students as a part of their English language study. The lesson focuses on enhancing the students’ listening and speaking skills. The objective of this lesson is to acquaint the students with different types of stories and improve their vocabulary and reading skills.

Procedure
Step 1: Warm-up (5 minutes)
The teacher begins the lesson by greeting the students and reviewing the previous lessons. This creates a connection between this lesson and previous learning experiences. After that, the teacher initiates a short warm-up activity – a story starter. The teacher presents a story starter, such as, “One day, I found a mysterious creature in my backyard.” The students take turn sharing what happens next. This activity helps students exercise their creativity and improve their speaking abilities.
Step 2: Introducing Story Time (10 minutes)
The teacher introduces the concept of story time and storytelling. The teacher uses storytelling flashcards to introduce different types of stories, including fairy tales, legends, fables, and myths. The teacher explains the differences between these types of stories and encourages students to share their favorite stories.
Step 3: Presenting the Story (15 minutes)
The teacher reads a story to the class, such as “The Lion and the Mouse.” The teacher uses visual aids and enunciates clearly to help the students understand the story. After reading, the teacher asks students comprehension questions, such as “What does the lion do to the mouse?” This helps check the students’ understanding of the story and assists them in improving their listening comprehension skills.
Step 4: Group Activity (20 minutes)
