IntroductionWith the development of global situations and the advancement of Chinas position in the international community, more and more people have realized the importance of English. In order to make China follow international norms, Ministry of Education has intensified the areas of universal education. However, students’ interest was deeply depressed by examination-oriented education. English teaching in middle schools still has the problems of time-consumption, low efficiency and bad effects. It is proved that students can concentrate in class when they are placed in a cheerful studying circumstance, which is favorable to perception, memory, thinking and imagination. Moreover, they can acquire lots of solid knowledge and skills, and in that atmosphere they will feel studying is not a trouble thing or even a heavy burden, so it can help them to release their emotions, arouse their desire for knowledge and cultivate their will to overcome difficulties. In this situation, to create a kind of modern education method is necessary and important. And as a new concept teaching method, applying English songs in class is being accepted.According to my experiences of English teaching in middle school, I found that many students had pressure from their parents to learn English for good marks. They thought it was boring to memorize words, even they would dislike learning English. If these problems can not be solved accurately and in time, they will cause bad results. For example, some students don’t read loudly in the morning self-study sessions, let alone speaking English. Moreover, this environment can lead to a vicious circle. Or rather, the English learning atmosphere of whole class becomes weaker. On the other hand, students’ English levels are far behind from the requirement of the instructional program.
