The results indicated that: the pear fruit was softening after the high peak of the ethylene release. There was a significantly positive correlation between the fruit ethylene release and the ethylene concentration environmental in the bag, but there was a significant negative correlation between the fruit firmness and the soluble pectin content. The ethylene absorbent to the environment ethylene regulation inhibited the fruit ethylene release and PME, PG activity, limited the pectin degradation speed, thus it was effectively to keep the fruit firmness and delay the frui
