 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 9 Fluvastatin on acute coronary syndrome serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and the impact of MMP-9 [Abstract] Objective of fluvastatin on acute coronary syndrome (ACS) serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and matrix metalloproteinase -9 (MMP-9) levels. Methods ACS 68 patients were randomly divided into fluvastatin treatment group, 34 patients in the control group, 34 patients compared the levels of serum hs-CRP, MMP-9 levels. Results After 4 weeks, fluvastatin serum levels of hs-CRP, MMP-9 levels were significantly lower in the control group (P lt;0.05), blood lipid changes between the two groups no significant difference (Pgt; 0.05). Conclusion Fluvastatin reduces the ACS patients hs-CRP, MMP-9 levels, inhibiting the inflammatory response, and stability of atherosclerotic plaques. Methods 68 cases with ACS were randomly divided into 2 groups: fluvastatin group and control group, 34 cases in each; the changes of hs-CRP and MMP-9 of the patients in the 2 groups were compared.Result 4 weeks after treatment, the serum level of hs- CRP and of MMP-9 of the patients in fluvastatin group were much lower than that of the patients in control group (P lt;0.05) while the comparison of the blood-lipid changes between the 2 groups was of no statistical difference (P lt;0.05 ). Conclusions Fluvastatin can decrease the serum level of hs-CRP and of MMP-9 in patients with ACS, inhibit the inflammatory responses and stabilize atherosclerotic plaque.
