As applications, we deduce the asymptotic behaviour oftheiteratesofalmostallclassicandnewpositivelinearoperators. 1.Introduction TheoutstandingresultsofKeliskyandRivlin1andKarlinandZiegler2providednew insights into the study of the limit behavior of the iterates of linear operators de?ned on C0,1. They have attracted a lot of attention lately, and several alternative proofs and generalizationshavebeengiveninthelast?ftyyearsseethereferences. Nevertheless, the general problem concerning the overiterates of positive linear operatorsremainedunsolved.Thiscanbestatedasfollows. LetX beacompacttopologicalspace,letCXbethelinearspaceofallcontinuous real-valuedfunctionsde?nedonXandendowedwiththenormf:sup |fx|,andlet x∈X U:CX → CXdenoteapositivelinearoperator,thatis,Uf ≥0forallf ≥0.Theproblem istoprovidesu?cientconditionsfortheconvergenceofthesequenceofiteratesUk ?nditslimit,whichisthegoalofthispaper. and k∈ Various techniques from di?erent areas such as spectral theory, probability theory, ?xedpointtheory,andthe theoryofsemigroupsofoperators,havebeenemployedinthe attemptsto?ndasolutionsee,inchro
