Meniscal injuries inthe vascularized peripheral part ofthe meniscus have a better healing potential thantears inthe central avascularzonebecausemeniscalhealingprincipallydependsonitsvascularsupply.Severalbiologicalstrategieshavebeenproposed toenhancehealingoftheavascularareaofthemeniscus:abrasiontherapy,?brinclot,organculture,celltherapy,andapplications of growth factors.
