Althoughcurrenttherapiesforpretransplantdesensitizationandtreatmentofantibody-mediatedrejection(AMR)havehadsome success,theydonotspeci?callydepleteplasmacellsthatproduceantihumanleukocyteantigen(HLA)antibodies.Bortezomib,a proteasomeinhibitorapprovedforthetreatmentofmultiplemyeloma(aplasmacellneoplasm),inducesplasmacellapoptosis. Inthispaperwereviewthecurrentbodyofliteratureregardingtheuseofthisbiologicalagentinthe?eldoftransplantation.
