Increasinginterestinthisspecieshasresultedinthedevelopmentofaseriesofgenomicsresources,includingnuclearsequences andBAC/ESTlibraries,togetherwiththecollectionandcharacterizationofothergeneticresources.Itisexpectedthattheuseofthis modelwillallowrapidadvancesingenerationofgenomicsinformationfortheimprovementofalltemperatecrops,particularly thecereals.
