Steel’s characterizations by its normal magnetizationcurveandbycomplexmagneticpermeabilityarehereconsideredandincludedintotheproposedFEMmodels. Rail’sresistanceandinternalinductanceinfunctionofcurrentandfrequencyarecalculatedusingbothFEMandanalyticalmodels. Theresultsobtainedatthefrequencyof50Hzarecomparedwithfewmeasurementsavailable,andthentheyareextendedtoother frequencies. Copyright?2009A.DolaraandS.Leva.
