Theaimofthispaperistoclarifythein?uenceoftheclinkerSO3ontheamountofC3A.Thecalculationofthecementphases percentagesisbasedontheresearchwork,CalculationoftheCompoundsinPortlandCement,publishedbyBoguein1929.The usageofhighsulphurfuels,industrialwastes,andtireschangescompletelytheworkingconditionofBoguebecausetheassumed phase compositions may change. The results prove that increasing the amount of SO3 in the low alkali clinker decreases the percentagesofC3AduetothehighincorporationofaluminaintheclinkerphasesmainlyC2SandC3S.Thecorrelationislinear tilltheclinkerSO3reachesthe2%.Overthatthein?uenceoftheclinkerSO3becameundetectable.Anewcalculationmethodfor thedeterminationoftheC3Ainthehighsulphurandlowalkaliclinkerwasproposed. 1.Introduction Basedontheaboveapproach,Bogueproposedfourfor- mulaeforthecalculationoftheclinkerphaseconcentrations.
