After twelve months, the results obtainedfromIFAdemonstratedthat50%wereseropositiveandtwoserologicalpro?leswereobserved:the?rstoneranging from1/40to1/80andthesecond≥1/160.ByWB,itwasobservedthatthesamepercentageandserafrompositivedogspresented therecognitionofthepeptidesof29and32kDaupto8monthsbeforeIFAserumconversion.Amongthepositivedogs,allthesera fromsymptomaticoneswithtissueparasitismrecognizedthepeptideof68.5kDa.Ourresultssuggesttheneedofmodi?cations inthecontrolmeasuresregardingtheeliminationofthedogs.Theyalsocorroboratethehighsensitivityandspeci?cityofwestern blotinthediagnosisofcanineleishmaniasis,suggestingthepossibilityofitsassociationwithIFA.
