Thedownlinkperformanceandcapacityofdistributedantennasystems(DASs)withmultiplereceiveantennasareinvestigatedin multi-inputmulti-output(MIMO)fadingandmulticellenvironment.Basedonthemomentgeneratingfunctionandperformance analysis,anexactclosed-formexpressionofDASergodiccapacityisderived,anditincludestheexistingcapacityexpressionasa specialcase.Moreover,asimpleclosed-formapproximateexpressionofergodiccapacityisalsoderivedbyusingtheTaylorseries, andithastheperformanceresultclosetotheexactexpression.Besides,theoutagecapacityofDASisanalyzed,andanexact closed-formexpressionofoutagecapacityprobabilityisderived.Alltheseexpressionscanprovidegoodtheoreticalperformance evaluationforDAS.Simulationresultscorroborateourtheoreticalanalysis. 1.Introduction a closed-form expression of ergodic capacity is derived.
