Incomparisonwithcarriersofotheralleles,theewescarryingthepredominant411bpallelehad highervaluesofalltherecordedfertilitytraits.Forewescarryingthe394and857bpalleles,the birthweightoflambswasabout400ghigherascomparedtotheresidualgroupofewes.The observedassociationscouldbeduetodi?erencesindiseaseresistance,cellrecognitionortissue di?erentiationbetweencarriersofvariousMHChaplotypeswhichcaninturna?ectindividual fertilityandgrowthperformance.
