Design:TheLeipzig(LIFE)HeartStudy(NCisanongoingobservationalangiographicstudyincludingsubjects withdifferententitiesofCAD.Cohort1,patientsundergoingfirst-timediagnosticcoronaryangiographyduetosuspected stableCADwithpreviouslyuntreatedcoronaryarteries.Cohort2,patientswithacutemyocardialinfarction(MI)requiring percutaneousrevascularization.Cohort3,patientswithknownleftmaincoronaryarterydisease(LMCAD). Results:Wepresentpreliminaryresultsofdemographicsandphenotypingbasedona4-yearsanalysisofatotalof3,165 subjects.Cohort1(n=2,274)showsthetypicaldistributionofelectivecoronaryangiographycohortswith43%caseswith obstructiveCADand37%normalangiograms.Cohorts2and3consistof590and301subjects,respectively,addingpatients withsevereforms ofCAD. Thesuitability ofthedatabaseandbiobanktoperform associationstudies wasconfirmedby replication ofthe CAD susceptibility locus onchromosome 9p21 (OR per allele: 1.55(any CAD), 1.54(MI), 1.74(LMCAD), p,1026,respectively).AnovelfindingwasthatpatientswithLMCADhadastrongerassociationwith9p21thanpatients withobstructiveCADwithoutLMCAD(OR1.22,p=0.042).Incontrast,9p21didnotasso
