Methods:Amulti-centrerandomized-controlledtrial(RCT)tocompareefficacyandsafetyofPM(20mg/kg/dayfor21days) andPMplussodiumstibogluconate(SSG)combination(PM,15mg/kg/dayandSSG,20mg/kg/dayfor17days)withSSG (20mg/kg/dayfor30days)fortreatmentofVLinEastAfrica.Patientsaged4–60yearswithparasitologicallyconfirmedVL wereenrolled,excludingpatientswithcontraindications.Primaryandsecondaryefficacyoutcomeswereparasiteclearance at6-monthsfol
