Method:Onehundredandsixty-ninefemaleinpatientswithanorexianervosaweretreatedattheCharité UniversityMedicalCentre,CampusBenjaminFranklin,Berlin,between1979and2011.Weconductedretrospective analysesusingpatient’smedicalandpsychologicalrecords.Informationonsurvivalandmortalitywererequired throughthelocalregistrationofficeandwasavailableforonehundredpatients.Themeanfollow-upintervalfor thissubgroupwasm=20.9years(sd=4.7,min=13.3,max=31.6,range=18.3).Weconductedsurvivalanalysis usingcoxregressionandincludedsomaticcomorbidityinamultivariatemodel. Results:N=41patients(24.3%)showedasomaticcomorbidity,n=13patients(7.7%)showedsomatic comorbiditiesrelatedtoanorexianervosaandn=26patients(15.4%)showedsomaticcomorbiditiesindependent ofanorexianervosa,n=2patientsshowedsomaticcomplicationsrelatedtootherpsychiatricdisorders.Patients withasomaticcomorbidityweresignificantlyolder(m=29.5,sd=10.3vsm=25.0,sd=8.7;p=.006),showeda lateranorexianervosaonset(m=24.8,sd=9.9vs.m=18.6,sd=5.1;p.000)andalongerdurationof treatmentinourclinic(m=66.6,sd=50.3vs.m=50.0,sd=47;p=.05)thaninpatientswithoutsomatic comorbidity.Outof100patients,9patients(9%)haddied,onaverageatageofm=37years(sd=9.5).Mortality wasmorecommon
