By comparing the experimental data with the models, three models were testified and could describe the fermentation course well. The biomass was stationary after 48h. The time of maximum yield of polysaccharide(8.1g/L) was at 120h. The polysaccharide was synthesized during growth and non-growth phases, so the type of the fermentation is composite type. At the same time, it was found that the marine bacterium M4 could synthesize polysaccharide normally while the supply of oxygen was reduced.
