Methods:25patientswithrheumaticheartdiseasewhoreceivedthoracotomyweredividedintoatrialfibrillationgroupandsinusrhythmgroupaccordingtopreoperativecardiacrhythm.Rightatrialappendagetissuewasobtained,transmissionelectronmicroscopywasusedtodetectthedifferenceofatrialultrastructurebetweenthetwogroupsandimmunohistochemicalstainingwasusedtostudythedifferenceofcontentanddistributionofCX40andcollagentypeI.Results:1:Accordtoclinicaldata,wefoundthattheleftatrialdiameterofatrialfibrillationgroupwassignificantlyincreasedinatrialfibrillationgroupcomparedwithsinusrhythmgroup(P0.05).2:Accordtotheresultoftransmissionelectronmicroscopy,atrialmuscleofpatientsinthetwogroupsallhasacertaindegreeofmuscledissolved,glycogenaccumulationandinterstitialfibrosis,butthedegreeofmuscledissolvedandinterstitialfibrosiswasmoreseriousinatrialfibrillationgroupthansinusrhythmgroup.3:Accordtotheresultofimmunohistochemical,thecontentofCX40wassignificantlylowerinatrialfibrillationgroupthanthatinsinusrhythmgroup(P0.05)anditsdistributionisuneven.Moreover,thecontentofCollagentypeIinatrialfibrillationgroupwassignificantlyhighercomparedwithsinusrhythmgroup(P0.01).ThecontentofCX40wasnegativelycorrelatedwiththecontentofCollagentypeI（r=-0.96，P0.01）.Conclusion:1:Theresultsofelectronmicroscopyandimmunohistochemistryallreveledthatinterstitialfibrosiswassignificantlyincreasedinatrialfibrillationgroupwhichsuggestingthatatrialfibrosismayberesponsiblefortheincidenceandmaintenanceofatrialfibrillation.2:ThecontentofCX40inatrialfibrillationgroupwassignificantlyreducedthanthatinsinusrhythmgroup,furthermore,thedistributionofCX40isuneven.ItisacluethatthedecreaseexpressionofCX40maybeanimportantknowncausetotheincidenceandmaintenanceofatrialfibrillation.Keywords:Atrialfibrillation,Gapjunction,Fibrosis缩写缩略词表英文全称中文全称AFAtrialfibrillation心房颤动NAFNon-atrialfibrillation非房颤SRSinusrhythm窦性心律RHDRheumaticheartdisease风湿性心脏病CADCornaryarterydisease冠心病MSMitralstenosis二尖瓣狭窄MIMitralinsufficiency二尖瓣关闭不全AIAorticValveinsufficiency主动脉瓣关闭不全ASAorticste
