Key words : Rural cooperatives; social function; Community Governance PAGE PAGE 10 第一章 导 论 第一章 导论 一、问题的提出和选题的意义 本文所探讨的农村合作社，是起源于西方的合作社新时期在我国发展的典型形 式，不同于我国以往的合作社，它是在实行家庭联产承包责任制后的新型合作社。 西方国家合作社的发展已有一百多年的历史，实际操作较为成熟，相关理论研究也 颇为丰富。而新型农村合作社在我国的发展历史仅二三十年，在实际操作中暴露了 不少问题，理论研究相对薄弱。 综合分析，学术界有关农村合作社研究的 论文和著作呈现出三个较为明显特 点：第一，在研究范式上，绝大多数从经济学，尤其是制度经济学角度来论述农村 合作社；在内容上，多是将农村合作社作为一种独立的“企业组织”来剖析，着重 探讨其产生的可能和发展空间、所有权结构、产权界定、内外部制度安排等。第二， 在对农村合作社的功能定位及研究结论上，更多强调农村合作社的组织化方式对我 国农村经济发展的重要性和必要性，突出了农村合作社的规模效益、交易成本的降 低及“企业性质”等经济功能。第三，总体上，都认为发展农村合作社是实现农户 小生产和大市场有效对接的必然选择，且将进入高速发展期。 从已有的研究中，我们会发现这样一个问题，很少有人立足于社会学领域，从 非经济因素层面进行分析：农村合作社，除了经济功能外，是否具有社会功能？如 促进农村文化、教育和农村社区可持续发展、提高农民社会参与能力等。如果有， 它发挥的现状如何？是否存在问题？这些都值得我们从社会学视角去探讨，由此自 然也产生了可供我们从另一个角度更加深入研究的课题。 我国特殊的农业历史与环境，使得我国农
