Firstly， the current situation of the theory curriculum system of our school vehicle engineering specialty is analyzed. Then the ability of the graduate students must achieve according to the national engineering education program accreditation is interpreted， and the curriculum system is optimized for the existing problems， finally. 　　Key words program accreditation； ability achievement； vehicle engineering； theory curriculum system； optimization 　　0 前言 　　我国正积极推进以《华盛顿协议》为核心的工程教育专业认证和工程技术人员职业资格认证。工程教育专业认证通过规范学生的知识、技能与道德标准，为其进入工程专业领域提供了前瞻性的引导。为确保毕业生质量，工程教育专业认证提出了10条通用毕业要求，认证专业必须通过评价证明所培养的学生达到这些毕业要求。毕业要求的达成主要是通过课程设置、工程实践活动、社会实践活动等保障体系。课程体系是育人活动的指导思想，是培养目标的具体化和依托，它规定了培养目标实施的规划方案，其中的理论课程体系是构建学生知识体系、掌握基础知识的重要手段。 　　我校车辆工程专业源于原长沙交通学院1980年创办的汽车运用工程专业，2004年开始以车辆工程专业招收本科生，于2006年获得车辆工程硕士学位授予权，2010年与机械工程一级学科下的其他二级学科一起获得“机械工程”一级学科硕士学位授予权。2011年“机械工程”学科被评为湖南省重点学科，车辆工程专业2011年被评为湖南省特色专业。虽然车辆工程专业在湖南省，乃至在全国范围内具有一定知名度，但在工程教育的专业认证背景下，仍存在如下问题：（1）专业特色不明显。对于一所省属高校的车辆工程专业，无法享受到985、211等高校所具有的各方面资源，因此需要错位生存，在本专业的人才培养、教学体系等方面发展自己的特色，方能提高专业的知名度；（2）课程体系过于强调理论知识。当前的课程体系主要从构建学生全
