ABSTRACT Tbis paper examines tbe burning issue of tbe s04ie纱s need of applied tecbnical personnel. It discusses the starting，changing and developing of tbe key skills in secondary vocatiooal ucatioB of tbe wbole world. Different from previous research ，tbis 阳per wants to emphasize the impo时ance of developiag students key skills and study effective methods to key skills training. In wb.t follows，we revise tbe method of English key skills training to i?vestigate our studen臼， key skills. There are eight parts in this paper. We start with a brief iotroduction to tbe background and tbe reasons wby we talk about this quω甜。n，and the signification of key skills trai*ing. Then we ，propose teaching requirements for key skil1s cultivati吨， and tes甜甜 it with constructionism theory. Through invωtigation w find tbat the ， level of all students key skills is low，which is relatedi to sex，marks etc. Based 00 this findiogs，we may cooclude that (1) te key skiUs of meo studeots are bigher than women stlldeots，(2) thei higher marks they earn io general knowledge course and specializ d course，the higher levels they get key skills，and (3) the level 01 key skills is difference in vocational schools. 80 we propose (1) pay ntore attention ，to women students in vocational education，(2) strength general ， courses，aod (3) 00 the basis of constructiooism th η improve students key skills in all kinds of vocational schω1$.
