用自然主义理论浅析红色英勇勋章中亨利心理变化 　　【摘要】《红色英勇勋章》堪称美国文学史上的一部经典作品。小说一反美国战争的浪漫主义传统，真实再现了战争对人心理的巨大影响，暴露出战争荒诞不经的实质。本文运用自然主义的理论，对小说中的人物形象亨利的心理变化进行阐释并分析了小说的主题。小说通过主人公面对战争的心理变化表达了作者对于社会现实和个人价值的解读。 　　【关键词】红色英勇勋章 自然主义 心理变化 　　【Abstract】The Red Badge of Courage is one of the classic novels in American literature history. The novel goes ahainst the traditonal romantiism of American civil war and reveals the great influence on people from the war， exposing the ridiculous essence of the war. This paper puts to use the naturalism theory to explain the psychological changes of Henry and analyses the theme of the novel which express author’s understanding of social reality and individual values. 　　【Key words】The red badge of courage； Naturalism； Psychological change 　　Chapter One Introduction 　　Stephen Crane （November 1， 1871 ? June 5， 1900） was an American author. Prolific throughout his short life， he wrote notable works in the Realist tradition as well as early examples of American Naturalism and Impressionism. He is recognized by modern critics as one of the most innovative writers of his generation. 　　His masterpiece， the red badge of courage was published in 1895. The Red Badge of Courage is a war novel. Taking place during the American Civil War， the story is about a young private of the Union Army， Henry Fleming， who flees from the field of battle. Overcome with shame， he longs for a wound―a red badge of courage―to counteract his cowardice. When his regiment once again faces the enemy， Henry acts as standard-bearer.
