Last but not least, I will express my gratitude to those students as well as teachers who are involved in my research. ii ii Abstract Corpus, as an advanced information retrieval tool, plays an important role in language teaching and learning. There is little application of corpus into language teaching, even with regard to translation teaching and leaning. In this thesis, the researcher makes an attempt at examining whether student translators can overcome translation problems when they are doing translation exercises by the aid of parallel corpora and BNC. The thesis is mainly made up of three parts. In the first section, the researcher introduces the purpose and significance of this study. In the second part, the current situation of this field both at home and abroad is described.
