Abstract Along with the global economy recovering from recession, international business cooperation has been on the rise, which drives China to deepen its cooperation with other countries raising business contract translation to an impending point. Recently, numerous scholars at home have studied international business contract from different perspectives such as language and culture, stylistics and functional equivalence from which they did achieve some fruits, yet according to the 225 academic papers, 58 master?s theses, 23professional books and 10magazines collected by the author from CNKI and library the author finds that most research is from the perspective of E-C translation and the C-E IBC translation is relatively inadequate and the theoretic system of international business contract translation is far from perfect, which needs qualitative leap. Therefore, on the basis of previous studies, this thesis applying comparative analysis and examplication, focused on the C-E translation of international business contract （mainly sales contract）from the perspective of Skopos theory. Skopos theory regards the Skopos rule as the top-ranking rule, therefore, different from traditional down-top translation approach, the Skopos theory holds the top-down method by which the translators have more freedom to choose the most appropriate strategy according to translation brief. This thesis is composed of five chapters including the introduction and the conclusion. Chapter One is the introduction, which talks about the background, motivation and significance of the study which paves the way for the overall analysis. Chapter Two is a general introduction to international business contract including the definition, classification and function. Furthermore, the author also analyzes the stylistic features comparison between English and Chinese business contracts.
