Since the mid-twentieth century, the developed countries, such as North America, Western Europe, not only made many success projects, but also summed up a lot of valuable experience. In recent years, China ushered in a waterfront development boom. In practice, on the one hand, we draw on the successful experience of foreign countries. On the other hand, we also summed up much unique experience in line with national conditions. Throughout the waterfront research abroad, mainly in the Waterfront management and protection of ecological environment, waterfront landscape planning and design, waterfront public open space model of, and for the waterfront public open space, but the research of the relationship between waterfront public open space and its surrounding urban construction was not enough. Because of the rarity of waterfront land, we all know waterfront shuld be public space. But we do not know the relationship between the public facilities’ land and waterfront environment, do not know what kinds of public facilities arranged in the waterfront is the most appropriate, urban planning on that research is still in the blind spot. This is the contents of this paper, waterfront public land suitability studies has very important significance for rational and efficient use of waterfront land. This research of the waterfront suitability of public land has use three kinds of methods including Qualitative Evaluation, AHP Evaluation and Survey Method. Before the use of these three methods, I have introduced the urban waterfront land what has been public, classified public lands. These are bases of three kinds of methods.
