Some people think that sex means wearing revealing attire, while others think that sexy is a kind of posture beauty appeal. Some people think that a plump build is sexy, while others think that being frank is the true beauty of being sexy. As to me, I asked many people surrounding me. Though they hold different opinions towards being sexy,it brought a sense of mystery to some extend. No doubt costumes ranks as the chief culprit of such mysteries. Since its born day, costume is entitled with some erotic sentiments. No matter how it developes afterwards, it can never escape this topic “sex”. Because that there is an inseparable relationship between aesthetic conceptions towards body and popularity of costumes, therefore “sexy” has always been the pursuit of goals in various art fields to express their artistic feelings. In the contemporary world when costumes are called costume art, designers have been intentionally or unintentionally emphasizes the delicate relationship between clothing and sex. Some of them aimed at the wearers, while some emphasized on the dress itself. Sexy beauty as a form of expression of garment design, the value of which is worth studying. Being a material products and spiritual products, the research of costume material properties is also a research on peoples spiritual world. By analyzing women’s selection of costumes under the impact of sexual attitudes and culture, the author mainly discussed its influence on costume designing.
