脚Y 脚Y舢1 ㈣跎㈣∞ M3舢6 ABSTRACT Contemporary design is responding to the fluctuant century history of design in speculative attitude．Since new century has already come， brand—new situation，namely the crossover design has emerged in design field，exhibiting complex crossover and integrated status based on different culture，territory and specialty division which needs US to jointly develop its potential and energy． ‘‘Crossover’Call be the necessary choice when any industry develops to a certain stage．After original knowledge and resources are exploited，crossover will accordingly become the only way to drive innovative development of designing industry．In addition，driven by factors such as social progress，class differentiation and the rise of Asian culture，boundary of consumption market also becomes increasingly vague，providing favorable opportunity for crossover integration for designing． In recent years，boundary of traditional graphic design becomes increasingly vague，let alone the impact on book design．With ever increasing mass culture consumption，diversified demand for book design also increases continuously．It is exactly the momentum of‘‘crossover’ phenomenon in contemporary book design industry,which eliminates restraint restraint of inherent form of‘‘type culture’’of book and brings unavoidable impact on old existing mode of book．In book design field， the mode of‘crossover’inspires the revival of traditional book field． By proposing the impact of“crossover’trend on book design，it is designed to inspire or indicate more possibilities，explore new thoughts of design，advocme multi·color and diversified design，pay aRention to transformation of current design，eliminate category boundary and look for more extensive development space for book design． This paper generally discusses through six chapters． Chapter 1 firstly discusses“crossover’，briefly states presence of ‘‘crossover’in multiple fields and reveals that‘‘crossover’will be the development trend of contemporary a
