ABSTRACTTraffic ABSTRACT Traffic Impact Analysis(TIA)studies the internal relationship between citY and traffic from the point 0f microco smic， reveal their regulation， and grope for how to assort with the relationship between them，and T1A is the effective means which deal with city transpo rtatiOn．All over the world lot of interrelated research indicate， some problems include how tO decide threshold of T1A and impact area etc confronted and left unsolved in p ractical circumstances， and theory analysis， thorough and systematic research 0n it iS necessary． This main object of thiS research will found the TIA system thought which adapt our country’S situation， and take emphases on the keY problems in TIA．．—the threshold and impact area．First，found the TIA system thought which adapt our country’S situation，by studying the TIA process of the countries abroad，especially America and the relation ship between traffic and land use．Second，identificate the Threshold For TIA， Threshold For TIA is one of the key problems of carrying on TIA．Thi paper regards the scale of construction project as the threshold for TIA，sets up the feed-backing models against land used for four stages tO define the threshold for TIA，by starting with the reason of the traffic-the proj ect， on the basis of analyzing and researching about the traffic demand and traffic capacity of the area．Lastly，identificate the study area．The decision of study depends on the location and development size of land Use i large extent， usually it includes the local and the surround area which suffer from large amount of traffic impact．By analyzing the impact caused by commercial developments and trayel time，this Paper putS forward method to identify the traffic impact on commercial location and travel time by taking background traffic into consideration，which is very USeful to instruct T1A in different cities theoretically and practically． Keywords：traffic of city：traffic impact analysis； identification of th
