Study of pea floral development is important for research of improving legume plants yield, especially for soybean. In recent years, notable progress has been made in study of gene regulation in pea floral development. By comparing the similarities and differences between Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) and pea, current molecular progresses of floral development in pea from the aspects of floral meristem identity and floral organ patterning were summarized.
