Pre- reading Get Ss read and enjoy two poems Guide Ss to predict the main idea of the passage according the title To introduce the title of the reading passage “A few simple forms of English poems” and arouse their interest in the topic. Step II. While- reading Task 1. Read for main idea. Ask Ss to read the passage quickly for the main idea and find out different forms of English poems and check their prediction. Task 2. Read for detailed information. Ask Ss to read the passage to find the features of each form and summarize what the poems (A-H) about. T summarizes the features of each form and the meaning of example poems. Ask Ss to read the passage again and find out why the author wrote this article. Task 3. Read and guess with the help of the features learnt by reading. Ask Ss to read and guess and summarize the poems with the features they have . To get the main idea, find out the five different forms and check their prediction. To read the passage to get the detailed information. To figure out the features of each form and summarize the meaning of each poem. To show the learning strategy to get the purpose of writing the passage. To apply the knowledge Step III.
