Read the following passage to get the information about Beijing Opera.
Beijing Opera was listed in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List in 2010. Beijing Opera is considered as a national treasure of China, which dates back to 200 years ago. The late Qing Dynasty saw the great development of this opera. Qianlong Emperor in the Qing Dynasty had an interest in the local opera. To celebrate his eightieth birthday, he asked opera troupes coming from different places to perform for him in Beijing, so the four big Hui Opera troupes entered the capital one after another. Gradually, they combined with other operas and formed the present Beijing Opera.
Beijing Opera is a form of traditional Chinese theatre which combines music, performance and dance. Full of Chinese cultural facts, the opera presents the audience with an encyclopedia(百科全书) of Chinese culture, as well as unfolding stories, beautiful paintings, wonderful costumes, graceful gestures and martial arts. Besides, the kinds of facial make-up, especially concerning the color, are the most particular art in Beijing Opera. There is no doubt that it is really the treasure of Chinese culture.
