Teacher asks students one or two interesting scientific questions and invites them to think and answer the reasons. To arouse students interest and activate their background knowledge. Step2: Listing the key elements and the language features of an experiment report. 1. Teacher shows students a passage of Franklin’s experiment with lightning and invites them to point out the key elements of an experiment report. To have students gain new insights through reviewing old materials and raise their awareness of the key elements and the language features of an experiment report. 2. Teacher asks students to judge the features of language used in the passage (objectivity and readability) by reading the passage again. Step3: Reading for detailed information of an experiment 1. Teacher asks students to read the instructions for the experiment—Magic bottle for the first time to understand the experiment process. To help students obtain the whole process of the experiment and be prepared for implementing the experiment. 2. Teacher asks students to scan the first question and try to predict the results of the experiment. 3. Teacher asks students to have a group discussion about the results and the
