T then introduces today’s topic, which is about astronauts. To activate what Ss have already known about space heroes; To introduce the topic of the article. Step 2 T asks Ss to look at some pictures about space transports and talks about what those space transports are, what’s special about them and how to describe some actions of space transports. To prepare Ss with some words and expressions about space exploration; To help Ss familiarize with the topic. Step 3 T asks Ss to read the part of the Challenger and answer some general questions and a detailed question about reference words. To get a general understanding of the Challenger; To figure out what a reference word refers to. Step 4 T asks Ss to read the part of Shenzhou V and answer some general questions. To get a general understanding of Shenzhou V. Step 5 T asks Ss to compare what the similarities and differences are between the Challenger and Shenzhou V mission? To figure out what are the same and what are different between the two missions. Step 6 T raises the question of what the writer thinks of working in space and then invites Ss to voice their own opinions in the question. To comment on the job of working in space.
